"I've been drawn to the art of painting since I was eight when I would draw cartoons and ask my mother if anyone would buy them.
Most of my work is spontaneous and it seldom ends up as it was intended. I often start working upside down so shapes emerge and not what the eye is trained to see. Any one painting can go from realistic to representational to abstract.
My medium is mixed, but mainly acrylic because it suits my temperament. Its properties allow me to experiment to my heart's content. I am passionate about capturing emotions and personalities - whether human, animal or inanimate - and my aim is to be simple and direct and to explore shapes and color."
